A school of success
At Ouagadogou – the capital of one of the poorest countries in the world, the Foundation has wanted to set up not only a professional school in the world of fashion, but above all, to give an opportunity to young people.
A strategic intervention aimed to set-up a business which tomorrow could become famous in the world of fashion.
In collaboration with Bambini nel Deserto and the local association Coutier sans Frontiere (dressmakers without borders) there is a workshop for 12 young people. The complete course includes:
- basic dressmaking skills
- notion of design
- book-keeping
In less than a year there will be a fashion show and an outlet will be opened in the centre of town.
This project has been recognised by the Ministry of the Women of Burkina. Every step will be followed in order to valuate the possibility of setting up a similar initiative in other parts of the country.
Tomorrow
The aim is not only to set up a business specialised in clothes and accessories but to create a successful brand. A style which reflects the values of Africa, the ability to export worldwide the traditions, materials, tastes and styles from Burkina Faso.

WHY TAKE ACTION?
The population of Africa is decreasing. Young people, often the most enterprising, educated and willing, emigrate because of the lack of the most basic living conditions for them and their families
Wars and famine are the main reasons that force them to flee from Africa. This kind of project could give them an alternative to remain.
